Within the context of the exhibition Temple of Love, the talk Learning from Haiti featured artist Gaëlle Choisne in dialogue with art historian and lecturer Charlotte Laubard and Scuola Piccola Zattere artistic director Irene Calderoni. The artist evoked her personal and artistic relationship with Haiti, a place that is central to her practice and informs her imaginaries, methodologies, and approaches to creation. Building on this experience, the conversation expanded into a broader reflection on structures and educational pathways in contemporary art, on the relationship between learning and practice, and on the emergence of new critical positions that challenge established dichotomies, disciplinary boundaries, and traditional canons.
