During his short residency at Scuola Piccola, Filippo Andreatta explored clouds as a device for chamber theatre, drawing on August Strindberg, who for years observed and annotated the clouds over Stockholm's sky. The architecture of the Valli Theatre in Reggio Emilia is scaled down into a maquette, an intimate place where representational distance burns into minute scenic and celestial artifices. The soundtrack is Melodie by Louis Andriessen, in which piano and flute pursue a perfect unison, constantly challenged by timbral fluctuations and micro-rhythmic variations.
