On 4 March 2026, curator Saša Asentić and artists Diana Anselmo and Angela Alves took part in a conversation centred on the new special issue Cripping Performance of Maska, a leading journal dedicated to the performing arts with a particular focus on accessibility practices and disability justice. Co-edited by Saša Asentić, the issue stems from a critical reflection on (in)accessibility in the field of the performing arts and brings together contributions by disabled artists engaged in artistic leadership and activism. The publication opens up a collective rethinking of the relationship between disability and more equitable futures, drawing on Robert McRuer’s concept of cripping as a practice of resistance to ableism, as well as Alison Kafer’s reflections on the political reclamation of the term Crip.
