Oltreforma presents SEGNO, a creative workshop dedicated to unconventional forms of communication.

When communicating, we tend to rely mainly on our voice and hearing, forgetting that other elements such as our body, touch and sight play fundamental roles.

Inspired by the work of Diana Anselmo, we will devote ourselves to discovering forms of communication other than verbal ones. Signs and movement will become the language through which we express ourselves.

In the workshop, we will start by choosing our sign name, and then try to communicate only through touch by means of a game. Will we be able to make ourselves understood better without using our voice, which we usually rely on?

We will give concrete form to what we have talked about by making incisions in sheets of aluminium: the holes we create will give shape to the images we have evoked. The final result will be a work of subtraction, in which it is the absence of matter that communicates.
