The Elephant in the Room

Fosbury Architecture

11/03 — 13/03/2026, 11.00 AM — 06.00 PM

Workshop

Scuola Piccola Zattere presents The Elephant in the Room, a workshop of three days curated by Fosbury Architecture, a design and research collective founded in 2013 by Giacomo Ardesio, Alessandro Bonizzoni, Nicola Campri, Veronica Caprino, and Claudia Mainardi.

The workshop is part of a broader research framework developed within the HouseEurope! initiative, an advocacy project that promotes the reuse of existing buildings as a sustainable alternative to demolition and, in this perspective, focuses on the enormous architectural heritage of the past, encouraging greater awareness and public discussion about its future potential.
The proposed program aims to introduce participants to the strategies, tools, and opportunities related to the reuse and reactivation of existing structures.
With a focus on the Galeazze, 16th-century buildings that are part of the Arsenale complex, participants will be invited to translate their design ideas into images, models, performances, spatial interventions, or any other expressive form, embracing the diversity that the interdisciplinary group will bring with them.

PROGRAM

The workshop is free of charge and includes participation in three days of activities at the following times:
11-12-13/03/2026, 11 am - 6 pm.
