At the conclusion of Andrea Canepa's residency, on Friday, March 14 at 6 pm, the site-specific installation Geometrie del Possibile will be inaugurated in its final configuration. The opening will be accompanied by a conversation between the artist, artistic director Irene Calderoni, and Noemi Biasetton, researcher in the field of design and currently fellow at Scuola Piccola Zattere.

Andrea Canepa was invited to design a permanent site-specific installation for the Ridotto, the space adjacent to the entrance. Designed to be always accessible, with particular attention to younger audiences and educational activities, the Ridotto aims to explore new forms of hospitality and interaction, inviting both play and rest, as well as planned or spontaneous exchange. For this space, Canepa created Geometrie del Possibile, an environment designed to enhance sensory awareness and stimulate the body. The spatial composition is inspired by modular flooring geometries, exploring the infinite possibilities of elements that initially appear rigid. The structures do not dictate but invite, leaving room for the randomness of play, allowing for free movement and continuous recompositions of the space. The installation was created in multiple phases, following a process of trial and error, including experimentation through educational activities.

In November 2024, during the Open Days at Scuola Piccola Zattere, the first part of the installation was activated with the performance Le Forze d’Ercole, a choreographic intervention by the artist inspired by an ancient Venetian competition. In the following months, the Ridotto hosted presentations of the books What Can Theatre Do by Silvia Bottiroli and A bocca chiusa by Piersandra Di Matteo, as well as a workshop for families. The final setup of Geometrie del Possibile will welcome in the coming months new forms of meeting, interaction, and use of the space.
